MKB Law Solicitor Finalist in Inspirational Women in Law Awards
MKB Law’s Employment Solicitor, Suzanne Keenan, has been named as a finalist in the UK-wide Inspirational Women in Law Awards.
Organised by the First 100 Years Project, the award identifies and celebrates women who are pioneers of the profession and coincides with the upcoming centenary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act permitting women to practise law.
Suzanne, one of the top employment solicitors in Northern Ireland, was selected as a finalist by the judges after reading her submission article, ‘How can women shape the future of the Legal Industry’.
The awards ceremony took place last Thursday evening at London’s PricewaterhouseCoopers building and was attended by the finalists, including Suzanne – the only finalist from Northern Ireland selected for the award.
The eventual winner was named as Anita Jewitt, Partner at Irwin Mitchell in London.
Suzanne commented: “I feel honoured to have been selected as a finalist for this award. All the finalists are amazing women who have actively pushed the boundaries at a provincial and national level to further advance the place of women in law.”
MKB Law Director Gordon McElroy further added: “We are absolutely delighted for Suzanne – she has single-handedly grown and developed the Employment Law Department here at MKB Law and is an inspiration to all.”
The First 100 Years Project is currently producing a digital museum made up of 100 video stories charting the story of women in law, which will be donated to the British Library in 2019.
