Background & Experience
I qualified from the University of Ulster with a degree in Law and Economics in 2007. Whilst studying for my degree I also worked as a Paralegal in a local solicitor’s firm in Newry assisting with conveyancing transactions and litigation files. I spent some time in London doing corporate banking before returning to Northern Ireland to complete my legal education.
In 2009 I commenced my studies at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queens University. My Apprenticeship at this time was completed with a well-known Belfast firm doing litigation, employment and family law. I qualified as a Solicitor in 2011.
In 2010 and 2011 I was amongst a team of three solicitors selected from the Institute of Legal Studies to represent Northern Ireland in both National and International Mediation competitions.
Since joining MKB Law in July 2015 I have successfully built an employment practice made up of both employer and employee clients. I advise on a wide range of legal issues and continue to maintain a general litigation caseload for businesses and individuals. I have been listed as one of the top three employment solicitors in Belfast by an independent service review website based on anonymous client feedback.
In September 2016 I qualified as a Solicitor Advocate with the Law Society of Northern Ireland improving my advocacy skills to represent clients in a wider range of courts and tribunals.
In October 2017 I was selected as one of 5 finalists in the UK wide ‘Inspirational Women in Law Awards’ in London. In November 2017 I was promoted to Associate Director within MKB Law, and I continue to oversee and manage the growing employment department.
In my spare time I enjoy walking in the mountains with my small (but energetic) dog Che!
