Billy Muir is a solicitor in the Debt Recovery and Insolvency Department at MKB Law. Billy’s legal career began with MKB Law in February 2016 during which he has amassed experience in Insolvency, Debt Recovery, Litigation, and Employment Law.
Billy acts for a range of commercial clients ranging from commercial businesses, insolvency practitioners and financial institutions. He also acts to enforce security and assists with asset recoveries. Billy is involved in advising businesses and individuals in relation to insolvency and debt related matters. Billy achieved the Mills Selig Prize for Chancery Practice in 2019 and has experience operating in the County Court, High Court, Bankruptcy Court and dealing with the enforcement of judgments via the EJO.
His highlights include:
Recovering debts via letters of demand, statutory demands, winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions and Civil Bills. Acting in the Small Claims Court, County Court and High Court in Northern Ireland.
Enforcing Judgements in relation to both security and liquidised debts via the Enforcement of Judgements Office.
Tribunal experience in a number of employment issues including discrimination, redundancy, unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, unlawful deduction of wages, breach of contract.
Drafting contracts, handbooks, letters, policies and advising in relation to compromise agreements.
Acting in litigation matters such as road traffic accidents, negligence, misrepresentation and breach of contract.
