Jose Lazaro is a Solicitor in the Corporate and Commercial team at MKB Law. Jose specialises in corporate matters including mergers & acquisitions, banking transactions and commercial contracts.
He acts for a range of clients including local and international businesses, investment firms, financial institutions and individuals, advising and assisting them with the drafting and negotiation of corporate agreements and commercial contracts. He has experience acting for several banks in Northern Ireland in negotiating and drafting banking documents as well as obtaining security over different assets.
During the years, he has worked in a variety of legal settings on multiple corporate deals for different firms across Northern Ireland and Spain, thus developing significant experience in cross-border business transactions, IT & IP law, shipping and maritime law, customs law, and international trade and transport.
As a qualified Solicitor in the UK, Ireland and Spain, he also provides multi-jurisdictional legal advice to companies and individuals in Northern Ireland and advises members of the Spanish speaking community in Belfast on the laws of Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. Being the first Spanish Lawyer to qualify in Northern Ireland as a Solicitor.
Leading the South American team in a large M&A transaction featured in the Wall Street Journal in which the client was selling its nuclear assets worldwide.
Drafting corporate policies and other bylaws for a Russian company with interests in Bolivia and Venezuela.
Representing a Spanish oil company in the resolution of maritime claims and in the drafting of its commercial and transport agreements.
Negotiating with the Government of Argentina the resolution of arbitration proceedings issued in Paris under ICC Rules.
