Solicitor – Insolvency and Litigation
An exciting opportunity for a Solicitor with at least 2 years PQE to undertake a role that provides a balanced mix of court work, fee earning, direct client contact and business development within our Insolvency and Litigation team in Belfast.

You will work closely with our Head of Department and others in the team, with access to support, guidance and supervision, whilst being encouraged to take responsibility for your own cases and gain confidence in your own unique style. This role is an excellent and exciting opportunity for you to both gain and enhance your experience in contentious and non-contentious issues.
Our Award-winning and highly regarded team acts for clients across a broad spectrum of sectors and deals with both corporate and personal business related matters. The team works with and advises businesses or companies operating with financial difficulties, insolvency practitioners, trade creditors, public utilities, commercial landlords, directors, shareholders, and other stakeholders. It also advises on banking and financial claims, including the defence of enforcement of personal guarantees, banking and vulture fund settlement negotiations.

Whilst part of the team, you will also be given the opportunity to prove yourself as an individual and to build your own reputation as a future leader. The role is fast-paced, and the workload will vary on a daily basis. Some of your tasks will include: –
- Dealing with corporate and personal insolvency matters, pursuing claims on behalf of insolvency practitioners, lenders or creditors.
- Advising businesses and company directors of the options and protections open to them.
- Representing clients in the High Court of Justice in Northern Ireland, both with and without barristers in attendance.
- Liaising and meeting with clients, barristers and other experts.
- Managing your own caseload from inception to conclusion, exercising sound judgement and working within our case management system.
- Networking and promoting the development of the team.
- Undertaking specialised courses, with the option of additional qualifications including, but not limited to, the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency (CPI) and/or the Joint Insolvency Examination Board exam (JIEB).
- Obtaining membership of and representing the team at events associated with organisations that the team has established connections with.

It is essential that you have:
- A Qualification to act as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland with at least 2 years post qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Court experience with advocacy skills.
- Experience in managing multiple tasks.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to quickly grasp the main issues of a case.
- General IT skills.
- Time management skills.
It is desirable that you have:
- Experience in a firm with some insolvency or business-related exposure.
- Business acumen.

Legal Executive/PA – Litigation
We are recruiting an experienced litigation legal executive/PA to join a strong and rapidly expanding team, providing a mix of fee earning work and administrative support within our team in Belfast.

You will work closely with the Head of Dispute Resolution & Litigation and the Head of Insolvency & Corporate Recovery, alongside experienced Solicitors in the team, with access to support, guidance and supervision, whilst being encouraged and having the freedom to take responsibility for your own workload. This role is an excellent opportunity for you to put your own stamp on the team and shape the way that the departments operate. The successful candidate will be proactive and be able to provide first-rate assistance to the team to ensure that the work is carried out as effectively and efficiently as possible.

The Dispute Resolution & Litigation team acts in a wide range of commercial and property litigation matters. Our award-winning Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team deals with both personal and corporate insolvency. As part of the team, you will undertake administrative and support work, with some fee earning included, for the Heads of Department and other lawyers in the team. The role is fast-paced, dynamic and the workload will vary on a daily basis. Some of your tasks will be:
- Preparation of legal documentation including correspondences, court forms, bundles, and briefs
- Liaising and meeting with clients, barristers and other experts.
- Diary management.
- General administrative duties, such as opening and closing files, time recording and billing.
- Undertaking anti-money laundering and conflict checks.
- Telephone duties.
