MKB Law, one of Northern Ireland’s leading commercial law firms, has announced four award nominations for their specialist Insolvency and Debt Recovery team at the British Credit Awards 2023 and the Insolvency Practitioner Association Awards.

Led by Director David McAlinden alongside solicitor Ruairi Maguire and support from Niamh Murphy, Laura McGuckin and Chelsea Burrows, the expanding team provides expert debt and insolvency services for both individuals and businesses in the public and private sectors.

The British Credit Awards, part of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, recognises the achievements of those working within the credit industry. MKB Law’s Insolvency and Debt Recovery team has been shortlisted as finalists for ‘Legal Provider of the Year’ and ‘Rising Star’ for Ruairi Maguire.

This is the second year in a row that the team has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Legal Provider of the Year’ category.

The Insolvency Practitioner Association (IPA) Awards showcase the accomplishments and successes within the insolvency profession across the UK. With only six categories at the IPA Awards, MKB Law has been shortlisted for two of these award categories; ‘Rising Star of the Year’ for Ruairi Maguire, and ‘Innovation in Practise’ for Director David McAlinden.

While both awarding bodies recognise industry professionals from across the UK, MKB Law is the only law firm from Northern Ireland to have been shortlisted as finalists.

David McAlinden comments: “We are honoured to be shortlisted alongside such notable national firms and individuals in both the British Credit and IPA Awards. It is a credit to the team as a whole and reflects the calibre of the work being done on behalf of clients. These four award nominations demonstrate the dedication and hard work of our team combined with the support of our loyal client base.”

MKB Law’s Insolvency team was also recently ranked in The Legal 500 UK Guide in the area of Insolvency and Corporate Recovery, with Director David McAlinden highlighted as a ‘Leading Individual’ and Ruairi Maguire as a ‘Key Lawyer’.

The IPA Awards takes place on Monday 5 December at the National Theatre in London with the British Credit Awards taking place on Thursday 2 February 2023 in Royal Lancaster London.
