MKB Law continues to be one of the lead advisors to the hospitality and leisure sector in Northern Ireland. We most recently facilitated the licensing requirements linked to the acquisition by the AVA group of the Planet Bingo sites at Antrim, Newtownards, Portadown, and Newtownards Road to include the principal Galaxy facility at the former Yorkgate/Cityside complex.

In conjunction with the other members of the professional team to include Diana Thompson of MBA Planning and Bill McAllister Architectural Services, MKB Law Director Maria Conway was responsible for the submission of and court presentation for applications for each of the named sites.

The acquisition represents an investment by the AVA group of just over £2,000,000 and employment of upwards of 40 staff. This move demonstrates the group’s ongoing commitment to retaining the social and economic benefits of local gaming.

For further information on our services, please visit our Licensing and Gaming section or contact Maria Conway.
