Lynsey Henderson, Associate Director in MKB Law’s Corporate and Commercial team, was pleased to have recently concluded a high-profile investment portfolio disposal with a secure long-term income.

Lynsey, who is retained to act exclusively for the seller – one of Northern Ireland’s most prominent commercial property investors – was assisted by solicitor James Boyd, and oversaw the sale of the commercial property portfolio which was fully let to Ladbrokes Bookmakers, one of the market leaders in retail bookmaking in the UK and Ireland.

With 29 freehold and long leasehold premises included within the bookmaking portfolio – with 12 in Belfast and 17 spanning across counties Antrim, Down, Tyrone, Fermanagh and Derry/Londonderry – the multi million pound deal undoubtedly represents one of the largest commercial property transactions of 2022.

Lynsey comments: “I was proud to have been trusted to lead such a high value and complex transaction on behalf of my client with the invaluable support of my colleague, James Boyd. This deal was extremely intricate and involved, and proceeded in the face of any concerns in relation to a challenged investment backdrop. I am satisfied that both the seller and buyer were gratified by the conclusion of the sale and wish the new owner every success going forward”.
